After five years, it was time to redesign the line in order to better respond to today’s consumer needs and trends. Davidoff refreshed the line with new origin certified woods, new outside finishes and a perfect inside and outside color match.
Ziricote is a precious wood with a very particular design, a mixture of veins on a brown background. Ziricote is a captivating choice, sometimes referred to as the abstract art of veneer. This wood is often sought out by designers for its irregular grain and thus individuality. The outside wood surface is finished with a glossy effect adding beauty to the humidor.
Sapele is a highly sustainable, strong and relatively fast-growing wood. The texture of the grain is interlocked and sometimes wavy, with a fine uniform texture and good natural luster. The hardness, medium density, and propensity for straight grained boles makes sapele wood very stable. Mahogany sapele is definitely the crème de la crème of the African mahogany-like hardwoods in performance, stability and appearance. In order to seal the humidity more effectively, the mahogany sapele is hand-varnished, but the wood is still able to act as a humidity reservoir once the humidor is activated.
