After five years, it was time to redesign the line in order to better respond to today’s consumer needs and trends. Davidoff refreshed the line with new origin certified woods, new outside finishes and a perfect inside and outside color match.
Olive wood is a hard, strong, and durable wood with a light colour and oil-like grain patterns. No two olive wood pieces are identical.
Olive trees live for hundreds of years but eventually stop producing olives and are then classed as ancient. Their trunks and branches become thick, gnarled, and twisted. It is this wood that is used in the creation of beautiful wooden artifacts like humidors.
The satin matte finish preserves the wood’s authenticity and makes the humidor a classy interior item.
ANIGRE WOOD INTERIOR
The inside of the olive wood humidor is crafted from anigre, a discreetly pored wood admired for its warm, light golden-brown to light pinkish-red tones and its silky sheen.
Anigre is odourless, thus avoiding aroma transfer into the stored cigars. In order to protect it from absorbing humidity, the anigre wood is lightly hand-varnished, but is still able to act as a humidity reservoir once the humidor is activated.
