Davidoff Year of the Sheep Limited Edition 2027 — the latest release in Davidoff's celebrated Chinese Zodiac collection. This 6¾ × 52 Piramides is crafted exclusively by Davidoff Master Rollers with a minimum of 15 years' experience.
The Sheep embodies gentle strength — graceful harmony and creative elegance. In Chinese Zodiac tradition, those born under the Sheep sign are artists at heart, aficionados of texture, balance, and form who believe every detail matters and every moment deserves care. The Davidoff Year of the Sheep Limited Edition translates this philosophy into a cigar that reveals its character not in haste, but in harmony.
The Blend
The blend reflects the peaceful nature of the Sheep, with delicate floral aromas evoking the tranquility of open fields. One of Davidoff's greatest blending challenges was harmonizing tobaccos with contrasting aromatic profiles:
The Ecuadorian wrapper is bright and light in color — reminiscent of the lighter coats of certain sheep breeds — contributing elegance and a smooth, refined burn.
The Dominican filler tobaccos deliver floral complexity and subtle sweetness.
The Nicaraguan filler tobaccos from Condega and Estelí add body, mineral richness, and depth.
The Ecuadorian binder ties the blend together, creating a balanced and refined experience that evolves gracefully from foot to head.
The Piramides Format
The 6¾ × 52 Piramides — inspired by the graceful curve of the sheep's horn — is crafted exclusively by Davidoff's esteemed Master Rollers, each with a minimum of 15 years' experience. To achieve a perfect draw in this demanding figurado shape, the filler tobaccos must be distributed with absolute precision from foot to head.
The Ideal Cut: Approximately ½ inch (1.3 cm) from the head allows the cigar's complexity, balance, and intensity to develop fully. A larger cut allows more air to pass through, resulting in a milder experience with slightly reduced intensity.
Medium body with 60–80 minutes of enjoyment time.
The Taste Experience
First Third: Creaminess envelops the palate, gently sweet with hints of floral and orange peel, followed by a touch of wood and fresh spice. The retrohale presents notes of coffee and brown sugar, complemented by undertones of cream and spice.
Second Third: Dark chocolate takes center stage, accompanied by toasted notes, dried fruits, and earth. The initial sweetness and floral nuances continue to weave through the profile while black pepper gradually emerges to add depth and intensity. Small bursts of citrus and a touch of mint bring freshness.
Final Third: A new sweetness unfolds as caramel comes to the fore, alongside notes of oak wood and espresso. Leather soon follows, softening the profile, while roasted nuts and earthy nuances add a final layer of complexity. The journey concludes with a warm, lingering finish.
The Presentation
The 10-count box is made from natural, dark-toned solid wood with a satin-varnished red exterior — an auspicious color in Chinese culture. Inside, a wool-like fabric with a high percentage of recycled material wraps the inset panels, evoking the softness of a sheep's coat while showcasing the embossed Year of the Sheep pattern.
A removable internal cover with a see-through cutout elegantly presents the cigars beneath, finished with delicate purple handles — the Sheep's lucky color — alongside refined golden accents. The round Year of the Sheep icon is inspired by a ball of wool, symbolizing both a sheep itself and the new moon that marks the Lunar New Year.
Each cigar is adorned with a second band featuring purple accents and the Year of the Sheep icon. A removable, numbered collector's coin is included within the box.
