The God of Fire By Carlito Diademas 56 is one of the most majestic vitolas in the entire God of Fire portfolio—a collaboration between the legendary Arturo Fuente family and Prometheus that has defined super-premium cigar craftsmanship since 2004.
A Partnership Born of Fire
In the spring of 2003, Keith K. Park—founder of Prometheus and producer of the documentary The Fuente Family: An American Dream—sat down to dinner with Carlito Fuente in the Dominican Republic. During the filming of the documentary, Park had been nicknamed "God of Fire," a reference to his Prometheus brand and the Greek myth behind it. Carlito suggested Park use the name for a cigar line, and a legendary partnership was born.
Both Carlos Fuente Sr. (Don Carlos) and his son Carlos "Carlito" Fuente Jr. created their own blends for the God of Fire brand. While Don Carlos chose an Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper, Carlito selected African Cameroon—creating the bolder, more peppery expression that bears his name.
The Diademas 56
The Diademas 56 arrived in late 2017 alongside its Serie B counterpart, expanding the God of Fire portfolio into a larger ring gauge figurado format. Distinguished by its red ribbon foot band and predominantly red secondary band, the By Carlito Diademas 56 uses Fuente's signature high-grade Cameroon wrapper over carefully aged Dominican binder and filler tobaccos.
The secondary band bears the production year—a testament to the extended aging these cigars receive before release. Tobaccos are aged for years before rolling, and finished cigars rest in aging rooms for an additional two to three years before reaching retailers.
Tasting Profile
God of Fire By Carlito Diademas 56 delivers:
First Third: Baking spices, cappuccino foam, cedar, with medium-minus intensity that gradually unfolds
Second Third: Amplified baking spices, coffee cake notes, exceptional smoothness and balance
Final Third: Roasted nuts, pepper emergence, leather, dark chocolate undertones
The wide 56 ring gauge provides a cool, rich burn from start to finish. Despite its medium-to-full body, the cigar remains remarkably smooth and balanced—one of the most refined smoking experiences in the Fuente portfolio.
The God of Fire Standard
Every God of Fire cigar is adorned with two bands: the main band features a dramatic color rendition of Prometheus bound to a rock and attacked by an eagle—punishment for stealing fire from Zeus to give to mankind. The second band indicates the blend and production year. This attention to detail extends from presentation to the cigar itself—flawless construction, impeccable draw, and complex flavor development define the God of Fire experience.
Collector's Note
God of Fire cigars are produced in extremely limited quantities. Only a few thousand of each vitola are released annually, making them highly coveted among aficionados and collectors. The Diademas 56's larger format and extended aging make it particularly sought-after for special occasions and long, contemplative smoking sessions.
