A Legend's Journey

Eladio Diaz's story begins at age seven, when his mother brought him to a small Dominican tobacco factory called La Diana. Over the following 63 years, Diaz would rise to become one of the most respected figures in premium cigars—serving as production chief and Master Blender for Davidoff's Dominican operations. His work on the legendary Davidoff Oro Blanco, which carried his signature on the band and earned a $500 price tag, cemented his reputation as a master of his craft.

In 2021, Diaz quietly departed Davidoff and opened his own factory, Tabacalera Diaz Cabrera, in the Dominican Republic. Since his 50th birthday, Diaz has created a unique anniversary blend each year—cigars that were never sold, only smoked personally or gifted to close friends. These "Birthday Blends" became white whales among collectors. Beginning with his 70th Aniversario in 2023, Diaz finally made these celebratory cigars available to the public.

The "Unforgettable" Inspiration

The name carries deep personal meaning. According to Diaz, this blend reminds him of a pre-Castro Cuban cigar once given to him by Daniel Nuñez, former president of General Cigar Co. That experience, Diaz says, was unforgettable—and he has spent decades trying to recapture that moment in tobacco.
