The ritual of preparing a cigar has two instruments and two moments: the cut and the light. They are sequential rather than simultaneous — the cutter in hand first, then set aside; the lighter next. Orange is the color that belongs to the second moment — the outer cone of a burning flame, the color that fire produces when oxygen and fuel are in the correct ratio — but Stefano Ricci places it on the first instrument. The cutter that carries the color of flame is announcing what it precedes.

In the nail polish collection, orange is the most immediate of the warm colors — more direct than gold, more vivid than amber, without the ceremonial weight that red carries. It is a working color, a warm and energetic color, and on a cutter at the moment of preparation it reads as engaged rather than formal. The session has not started yet, but the orange cutter knows it is about to.

Nail Polish Lacquer

Orange nail polish is applied to the cutter body for the chromatic saturation and surface depth the color requires. The layered lacquer medium achieves a richness that flat surface finishes cannot match at this scale — orange with genuine warmth and interior dimension. Against the gold hardware, the orange body reinforces rather than contrasts: two warm materials, one restrained and metallic, one vivid and lacquered.

Gold finishing is applied to the mechanism, trim, and blade. Orange and gold share the warm end of the color register, and in combination they commit fully to warmth without interruption. The blade is sized for standard ring gauges and delivers a clean guillotine cut in a single controlled motion.
