Zino Honduras Half Corona
The Half Corona is the distillation of the Zino Honduras blend — the same Ecuadorian wrapper, the same Copán and Jamastrán Valley tobaccos, the same aged construction, delivered in the format that leaves no room for anything other than the essentials.
The Return to Honduras
The name Zino has carried a specific geographic association since the brand's earliest years. When the post-embargo market for non-Cuban cigars opened, Honduras became the natural home for Zino production — and the Jamastrán Valley, in the country's east, became the foundation on which those early cigars were built. The valley had been producing tobacco for generations before Zino arrived, and it gave the original Zino Honduras a character that was identifiably its own: earthy, rich, spicier than the Dominican alternatives that were becoming fashionable at the same time. Davidoff's 2026 return to Honduras with this new Zino line is a return to that foundation.
Ecuadorian Wrapper / Honduran Heart
The wrapper on the Zino Honduras Half Corona is Ecuadorian — smooth, consistent, and capable of providing the structural elegance that the Honduran blend inside benefits from. Beneath it, the binder and filler are both Honduran, drawn from two of the country's most important growing regions: Copán, in the mountainous western reaches of the country, and the Jamastrán Valley, with its centuries-long tobacco tradition. The tobaccos are aged three to five years before rolling — a maturation period that rounds out the rougher edges of the pepper and spice that define this blend and gives it the integration that a fresher leaf could not provide.
Cedar, Pepper, Cream
The Half Corona's smaller ring gauge concentrates the blend's character. Cedar is the anchoring note throughout, providing a clean, woody base that the pepper builds against in the opening third. The middle stage softens the spice — cream and a brightness described as orange zest entering the smoke — before the final third sees the pepper return with the cedar underpinning the finish. It is a cigar that moves through its stages briskly at 4 inches, but doesn't skip any of them.
The Pre-Cut Option
The Zino Honduras Half Corona is available in 25-count wooden boxes with a traditionally capped head, and in 5-count metal tins with a factory pre-cut head. The pre-cut option — unusual in the world of handmade cigars — was designed specifically for the traveler: a Half Corona in a tin goes in a bag, can be reached in a hotel lobby or airport lounge without the need for a cutter, and is ready the moment the occasion presents itself. Both options deliver the same cigar. The format is the choice.
