For years, the Opus X Purple Rain existed in a single format: the Torpedo. The 2026 Diademas Selection changes that.

The Carlito's X Rare Purple Diadema 56 (6¼" x 56) takes everything that defines Purple Rain and puts it in a figurado format designed to evolve. The tapered foot opens differently than the broad middle. The final third concentrates everything that came before. Same wrapper, same Chateau de la Fuente tobacco, same Serie "Heaven and Earth" pedigree — but a smoking experience that unfolds rather than delivers.

The Wrapper

Purple Rain's signature comes from a specific selection of Dominican Rosado grown at Chateau de la Fuente. The leaves carry a distinctive purple-hued sheen that inspired the name — but the color is just the surface. Underneath: cedar, earth, leather, pepper, warm spice, natural sweetness, and toasted wood. Full-bodied from light to nub, with the kind of complexity that rewards attention.

The Presentation

Ten cigars arrive in a limited edition Macassar Ebony travel humidor by Prometheus. The humidor alone is a collector's piece — Spanish cedar lined, with the craftsmanship that defines the Fuente-Prometheus partnership going back decades.

The Cause

A portion of every Fuente Aged Selection purchase benefits the Cigar Family Charitable Foundation, which supports education and healthcare for underprivileged children in the Bonao region of the Dominican Republic. When you buy Opus X, you're buying into something larger than a cigar.

Why the Diadema 56

The Diadema 54 is the longest at 7½". The Diadema 60 is the widest at 5½" x 60. The Diadema 56 sits in between — the format for collectors who want the figurado experience without committing to an extreme. The 6¼" length provides substantial smoke time. The 56 ring gauge lets the wrapper lead without overwhelming the filler. The proportions feel right.
