Kelner Rare Finds — Titans of Tobacco Collection. The Kelner name is synonymous with Dominican cigar excellence. Hendrik "Henke" Kelner is one of the most influential figures in the modern cigar industry — the founder of Tabadom, master blender behind Davidoff's legendary portfolio, creator of the Avo and Griffin's brands, and a pioneer who helped establish the Dominican Republic as a premier cigar-producing nation after Davidoff left Cuba in 1990.
His son Klaas continues the family legacy as part of a third generation of Kelners in tobacco. Klaas grew up in the industry, working the fields alongside his father, learning about soil, fermentation, aging, and the nuances that only come from putting your hands in the dirt day after day. In 2021, he left his marketing role at Davidoff to return to the Dominican Republic — closer to his family and closer to the craft he loves by founding Kelner Cigars.
The Titans Exclusive
For The Titans of Tobacco 2026, Klaas Kelner has collaborated with his father Henke to create a Rare Finds that exists only within this collection — an exclusive 6" × 54 vitola featuring a distinct variant of the Kelner 80th blend, reimagined and crafted solely for this project. The Kelner 80th was released in extremely limited quantities and quickly became one of the most sought-after Dominican releases in recent memory. This Rare Finds expression builds on that foundation, shaped by three generations of family expertise — from tobacco warehouses in the 1950s, through Henke's transformation of Dominican cigarmaking, to Klaas's pursuit of his own path in premium tobacco.
When the Kelner name appears on a limited release, collectors pay attention. When father and son collaborate, they pay even closer attention.
The Legacy
The Kelner family has been cultivating tobacco in the Dominican Republic since 1937, when Klaas's grandfather emigrated from the Netherlands. They understand Dominican terroir the way few others do — which farms produce which characteristics, how fermentation affects flavor, how to coax complexity from leaf that lesser blenders would overlook. This Rare Finds release represents the full weight of that legacy.
