S.T. Dupont Line 2 Double Fire X — Palladium
The Firehead guilloché is one of S.T. Dupont's oldest patterns — its roots in the goldsmith tradition of the 1950s, when the Maison was perfecting the techniques that would define its metalwork for generations. The motif takes the geometry of fire and renders it as surface: triangular facets arranged in patterns that suggest both the structure of a flame and the precision of the craft that made them. The Double Fire X lighter brings that pattern back in its most complete expression, running two scales of the motif across the same surface — the small and the large, the delicate and the majestic, side by side.
The Firehead Guilloché / Two Scales
The Double Fire X guilloché operates at two registers simultaneously. The smaller motif — the delicate triangular facets that the Maison describes as reflecting its humble beginnings — provides the surface texture that the eye reads at close range, the fine grain of the pattern. The larger Fire X design rises above it: majestic, organizing the surface around the form of fire itself, the crossed pattern that gives the collection its name. In palladium, both scales read with precision. The cool silver light picks up the geometry of the cuts without warmth intervening — the pattern is clear, the two scales distinct, the Firehead at its most technically legible.
Palladium / Cool Precision
Palladium gives the Double Fire X lighter a quality that yellow gold cannot: restraint. Where gold returns warmth and weight, palladium returns clarity. The facets of the Fire X guilloché catch light precisely, the silver tone giving each cut edge a clean definition that makes the two-scale structure of the pattern immediately visible. The lighter in palladium is the Fire X for someone who wants the design to be read, not announced — the pattern precise, the surface cool, the performance unchanged. At 62 × 37 × 11mm and 130g, the Line 2 proportions are standard: the right size for a jacket pocket, the right weight for an object made to be used.
Double Flame / The Perfect Ping
The Double Fire X lighter features S.T. Dupont's double yellow flame — two yellow flame jets from a single instrument, giving the flame coverage appropriate for both cigarette and cigar. Opening the lighter produces S.T. Dupont's Perfect Ping — the acoustic signature of the Line 2, the sound that marks the moment of ignition before the flame appears. Personalization available up to three characters.
