S.T. Dupont Line 1 — Vertical Guilloché / Palladium
The Line 1 was the first. S.T. Dupont introduced it in the early 1940s, and it established what a pocket lighter at the highest level of craft could be — the weight, the sound, the surface, the flame. Every S.T. Dupont lighter since has carried something of what the Line 1 established. Now it returns, with new volumes, in a Maison that has had eight decades to understand what it made the first time.
The Vertical Guilloché / Palladium
On the palladium version, the vertical guilloché reads as pure geometry. The parallel lines run the height of the lighter's body, engraved into the all-metal surface with the precision that defines S.T. Dupont's engraving tradition. Palladium's cool, silver-white tone offers no warmth — what it offers is clarity. Each engraved line registers against the metal surface as a clean shadow, the pattern emerging as structure and rhythm without opulence or sentimentality. Where the yellow gold version reads the vertical guilloché as a warm and heritage-inflected surface, the palladium version reads it as something closer to an architectural drawing: precise, consistent, unapologetically geometric. For the collector who wants the Line 1 in its most restrained and exact expression, the palladium is the choice.
Double Soft Yellow Flame
The Line 1 carries the double soft yellow flame — the original ignition format, two yellow gas flames working together for a broader and more even light. There is no torch. This is the original logic of the lighter preserved: the double yellow flame serves cigarettes and sheltered cigars without compromise, and demands a pace of use that suits the object. The Line 1 was not made for wind and urgency. It was made for the kind of moment in which the way something is done matters as much as what is done.
The Famous Cling
Opening the Line 1 produces S.T. Dupont's famous cling — the Maison's acoustic signature, clear and precise in this compact format. It arrives the same way every time, marking the opening of the lighter with the sound that has defined S.T. Dupont's craft from the very beginning.
