Stefano Ricci SR Dual Flame Lighter & Cigar Cutter Kit — Crocodile Blue / Palladium
The decision to dye crocodile leather blue is the decision to take the most prestigious exotic leather in the luxury goods world and push it further — to use the material not for its natural authority but as a ground for color, the scale pattern and structural qualities of the crocodile belly present beneath a chromatic choice that declares a position. Blue-dyed crocodile is rare because the combination requires both the base material and the dyeing expertise to work at the same level: the dye must penetrate the dense scales evenly, the color must hold through finishing and use, and the scale pattern must remain fully legible under the color rather than being flattened by it. When it works — as it does on this lighter — the result is a surface that is immediately recognizable as crocodile and immediately surprising in its color, both things simultaneously.
Palladium finishing is the hardware choice that this material demands. Brown crocodile and gold are warm and classical; blue crocodile and palladium are cool and deliberate — the blue of the skin and the silver-white of the metal in the same cool register, the organic geometry of the scales against the precise geometry of the palladium hardware. Where the gold/brown kit is resolved by agreement between its materials, the blue/palladium kit is resolved by the completeness of its cool palette.
Blue Crocodile Leather
The lighter and matching SR cigar cutter are both finished in genuine blue crocodile leather — the belly section of CITES-regulated crocodilian skin, dyed blue and finished to preserve both the scale pattern and the chromatic integrity of the color. The belly section has the finest, most regular scale arrangement of any section of the skin: each scale defined by natural grooves, each slightly different in size from its neighbors, the whole pattern present as a geometric surface that light crosses differently across the raised scales and the grooves between them. In blue, this pattern reads as a designed surface rather than a natural one — intentional, precise, distinctive.
Palladium Finishing
Palladium on the lighter hardware — the jets, the closure, the accents — holds the cool register of the blue crocodile. Palladium is a platinum-group metal with a brighter, harder finish than silver, cool and precise in exactly the way that blue crocodile leather is cool and deliberate. The dual flame mechanism behind the palladium fascia performs with the coverage and temperature that a serious cigar lighter requires.
Leather Box
The leather box presents and houses both the lighter and the matching SR cigar cutter — a complete kit in which every element is designed together. The leather of the box and the leather of the instruments occupy the same material family; the box closes the composition and makes the set appropriate for gifting or for display in the smoking room between sessions.
