Of the five woods in the Emblem Collection, Tulip Tree is perhaps the most unexpected — and, for those who know it, the most immediately compelling. Where the collection's other species signal their character through color depth or dramatic grain figure, Tulip Tree arrives through variety: a wood whose individual panels can carry cream, yellow, green, purple, and gray in the same surface, the streaks running through the grain in combinations that vary from board to board and veneer to veneer. Elie Bleu's Emblem Collection applies the logo-derived geometric veneer layout to each species as a constant — the emblem structure is the same across all five humidors — and in Tulip Tree, that constant meets a material that provides its own perpetual variation.

Tulip Tree / The American Grain

Tulip Tree — Liriodendron tulipifera, North America's largest native deciduous tree — produces a wood whose heartwood is the reason it is also called "rainbow poplar": the color streaking that runs through it, from green to purple to gray to creamy white, is the result of the tree's mineral uptake and growth conditions rather than any processing or treatment. The effect is genuinely surprising when a panel is first milled — the colors are real, in the wood, not added. Over time, exposure to light softens and harmonizes those tones, but the underlying variation remains. Elie Bleu selects panels for the logo-inspired Emblem pattern, placing the grain to carry the emblem's geometry across the lid and sides as a continuous surface.

The Emblem / Construction

The Spanish cedar interior provides the controlled environment that a serious cigar collection requires: two humidifiers for balanced humidification, an analog needle hygrometer for monitoring, two removable dividers for organization across the 110-cigar capacity. Eight coats of fine varnish finish and protect the Tulip Tree exterior. Lock and key closure. The Emblem Collection is regular production — a standing offering from the atelier on the Faubourg Saint-Antoine.
